Pray for Rain

Break up your unploughed (or fallow) ground;
for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes

and showers righteousness on you.

Hosea 10.12

It’s time to plough up the fallow ground!

Ground that is left unploughed that is fallow, becomes very hard, infested with weeds and is best ploughed or broken up after the rain has soaked and permeated the hardness, so the plough can get in.

People without spiritual life in God are like that ‘fallow’ ground.  They have become ‘hard of heart’ towards God and spiritual things.  Only God himself can “shower” such people so that their hearts are softened and they become open to the gospel.

Who sends the rain?

God does – of course you say - but when ? When we, his people – ask him to!

Hosea 10 says that “it is time to seek the Lord”

How do we seek him ?

Why, in prayer of course ! Listen to his eternal promise

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Does our land of the United Kingdom need God’s healing?
Does your land need healing ?

Why of course it does!

So what are we waiting for?

Can we make a difference ?

But, you may ask, what difference will it make if I pray, I’m only one amongst so many?

Do you remember when Jesus was facing the challenge of the Cross at Calvary, he felt the need of support from his closest disciples?  Did he demand of them 24 hours a day in prayer?

No – but he simply said “Could you not keep watch for one hour”  Mark 14:37

One hour !  What difference will that make?

It seems clear it would have meant a great deal to Jesus at that time.

What if? What if 100 people committed themselves to one hour of prayer each week for a year? That would add up to over 5,000 hours of serious “seeking God’s face” for the showers we so desperately need.

Pray for Rain

5,000 hours of prayer during the coming year !

How ?  By just 100 people praying 1 hour each week
for the people of the United Kingdom

Will you be one of them ?
Will you join us and become part of the ‘softening’ of the British ground ?
Our local church at least is already seeing a change of atmosphere in the streets

Pray for Rain

In the first month you will pray for the softening rain of the Holy Spirit to touch your own heart. In the second month we are asking for the softening rain of the Holy Spirit to touch British family relationships, later it will for the Holy Spirit to touch our relationships within the church which must be right if we are to be effective outside the church. Then we will praying for the softening rain of the Holy Spirit to touch the people of the United Kingdom, and the following month is for the babies, children and young people in our churches and our country. We move on to touch the influence the media and then I will send you the latest updates by e-mail if you send me your address.
